development goals
what are they?
The UN has identified 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that the world needs to achieve by 2030 for a "better and more sustainable future for all." The goals are interconnected and address poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace and justice.

What do they have to do with impact entrepreneurship?
The SDGs are important to impact entrepreneurs because they create a framework for thinking about and measuring the impact of your startup. Impact investors often want to know if a startup they are thinking about investing in addresses one (or more) of the 17 goals.
In broader terms, if we really want to achieve the SDGs by 2030, then environmental and social enterprises will play a key role. To that end, the Global Reporting Initiative and the UN Global Compact encourage businesses to measure and report their impacts on the SDGs. >>Read More
